Fees: 

PAYMENT METHOD FOR 2023-2024

All fees will be made will be made via E-transfer payable on the 1st month. All E-transfer made after the 1st month will be subject to a late fee. 

Drop in/ A La Carte Individual lesson Fees for 2023-2024: 

• 30 min lesson: $35

• 45 min lesson: $50

• 60 min lesson: $65

Recurring Monthly Lesson Package (Weekly one on one, scheduled once per week same day and time for both In person and Zoom at a discount price):

•  Recurring Monthly Lesson Package: Four 30 minute Lessons @ $27  (CA$108.00 per month)

• Recurring Monthly Package: Four 45 minute Lessons @ $45 (CA$180 per month)

• Recurring Monthly Package: Four 1 hour Lessons @ $60 (CA $240 per month)

Delivery of lessons:

• All lessons will be in-person and online starting September 2023. Online lessons will continue during inclement weather, illness or if the singer and piano students needs to be online for any reason

• There will be no waiting area inside the house, students will enter through the front door when opened

• Students feeling any amount of sickness (fever, cough, runny nose etc) must move their lessons online. 

 

Attendance:

• Consistent attendance is crucial for each student to have a positive educational experience and make steady progress.

• Please choose a weekly lesson time that you can commit to and ensure that anticipated absences are communicated ahead to time so that I can reschedule with plenty of notice. 24 hours notice is required to reschedule or the lesson will be forfeited.

• Lessons are taken weekly and paid for in advance on the first lesson of the month, which guarantees the lesson slot and encourage consistent instruction

• Lesson will not be made up if you are late, and your lesson will end at the scheduled times.

• If you miss your lesson slot completely, your lesson will be forfeit and not refunded or rescheduled

Punctuality: 

• Please be on time for your lessons. If you are early, please wait quietly in the front of the door for the previous student to finish or in the waiting room in zoom. If you are late, your lesson time is reduced by that amount, since there are students behind you

Online Lessons: 

• All lessons being conducted online will be used by zoom

• A zoom link will be sent via email the night before the lesson starts

• Best set up for lesson and preparation is using a laptop and an external microphone/or headset (usb condenser microphone is recommended for both piano and voice if budget is good)

• Once you start your first vocal lesson, click the '^' symbol on the 'mute' button. This will allow you to click "Audio Settings," which allows us to tinker with Zoom and how it adjusts the sound.

• In the next screen, you will go to where it says 'Microphone' and UNCLICK the box that says "Automatically Adjust Microphone Volume." Two more spaces down, you will see an option for "Suppress Background Noise." Change that setting to "Low." Then in the bottom-right corner of the screen, click the "Advanced" button.

• Click the box that says "Show in-meeting option..." This is the critical selection. Every telecommuting software, in an effort to make speech as intelligible as possible, reduces background noise. Unfortunately, music is interpreted as "background noise" because it is sustained! By clicking this option, it prevents a lot of the automatic muting by the software when you sustain a pitch.

• Finally, click the two options that state "Disable Echo Cancellation" and "High Fidelity Music Mode."

• Return to the main screen where you see your voice teacher in the large screen. In the top left corner, you should see a box that says "Turn Original Sound On." Click it and it becomes blue and says "Turn Original Sound Off." You're then set up for a successful online vocal and piano lesson!

 

​Cancellation Policy: 

• Cancellation of a lesson must be made AT LEAST 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time to receive a make-up lesson. This includes leaving messages via email or voicemail on my phone. This applies to all in-person and online lessons. 

• No shows or failure to notify me within 24 hours is considered a forfeited lesson.

• If you know of dates ahead of time where you/your child cannot make a lesson, please notify Gabby when booking/paying for your lessons.

• There are NO refunds on unused or cancelled lessons

Withdrawal/Termination of lessons: 

• A 30 day written notice is required when withdrawing/terminating lessons. This notice must be provided by email to gabbybudi94@gmail.com

Make-up lesson Policy: 

• There is a limit of two make up lessons that will be provided to vocal and/or piano students when the student gives AT LEAST 24 hours notice of the cancellation only.

• No make up lessons for no calls/no shows

• Make up lessons will be rearranged at a time mutual to both parties.

Other Policies:

• To ensure that appropiate preparation is possible, if a student is working towards an RCM Level 5/6/7/8 exam, a 45 or 60 min lesson is necessary. For an RCM level 9/10, a 60 min lesson is highly suggested. 

Scheduling: 

• The weekly lesson schedule is completed on a first come first serve basis 

• Regularly scheduled lessons begin on September 9 2023 based on available space
